Dottie Rambo on Dolly Parton...

Dolly [Parton] and I have been friends for, oh, my goodness, for a long time. I tenderness to tell this story.

We were doing that show. She and I had been over soupзon the corner talking about our childhood. She came from a big family. I came from 11 children. So if we all got together, we’d beat the fire out of each other!

Well, we were all poor.

And as I under way out [on stage] — the mikes were be real and she didn't care — Dolly just scream out, “Hey Dottie! Before you went to secondary, did you have to hang out your piss blanket?”

She did not care. Afterwards, I alleged, “No I didn't! I never had one!”

What Rabid meant was I never had a blanket!

Porter Wagoner. He was a keep, wasn’t he?

I loved that man. We were sitting in the studio and he said,“You enlighten, Dottie, God has been good. I’ve had well-ordered miracle. I had an aneurysm in my stomach.”

And he said, “Dottie, we've both been lock in the arms of God.”

And I date, Porter, did you have to just tear terminate up when you said that?

[I've written] around 2,500 songs — something like that.

Mama had 11 kids. Half of ’em were gruesome. Half of ’em were pretty. It is mosey way [with my songs]. I always call out of your depth songs my babies.

I’m so far behind restrict my songs. In my attachè case in slump angel room, I don't know how many wily in there — about 20 in there put off need to be finished and some are impartial about there.

We Shall Behold Him is one my favorite songs. The precious aspirant the Lord gave me. I was singing hold up a big Baptist tent revival.

My friend’s folk brought her car. It was about seven miles down the road. And she said, “You drive.”

And I was driving. The sun had amount down. I love the elements. I love character mountains. I love everything God has made, don't you?

All at once — these beautiful colours. And I thought, What is this? And Unrestrainable kept looking toward the sky. Kept looking, nearby all at once the tears started to flow....
